⏱️ Read time: 7 minutes | Updated: November 2026

Super Bowl LXI takes place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Sunday 14 February 2027.
If you are looking for Super Bowl tickets now, there is an important distinction to understand.
Official NFL hospitality packages with guaranteed game tickets are already available. Standard verified single-game resale tickets have not yet been released through the NFL Ticket Exchange.
That means your best buying route depends on what matters most:
Want certainty now and have the budget? Official hospitality is currently the clearest route.
Want a standard ticket without hospitality? You will need to monitor the verified resale market as distributed tickets begin reaching holders closer to the game.
Only want to attend if a particular team qualifies? Waiting until the Conference Championship Games may make more sense — but you will then have only two weeks to solve the ticket and travel problem.
This guide explains the trade-offs.

Super Bowl LXI: Key Ticket Information
| Super Bowl LXI | |
|---|---|
| Date | Sunday 14 February 2027 |
| Venue | SoFi Stadium |
| Location | Inglewood, California |
| Kickoff | 3:30pm PT / 6:30pm ET |
| Teams | AFC Champion v NFC Champion |
| Teams confirmed | 31 January 2027 |
| Official hospitality | Available now |
| Verified single-ticket resale | Not yet released |
The most important date for fans following a particular team is 31 January.
That is when the AFC and NFC Championship Games decide the two Super Bowl participants.
Super Bowl LXI follows only 14 days later.
So a fan waiting to see whether their team qualifies has a much shorter buying and travel window than somebody committed to attending regardless of the matchup.
How Super Bowl Tickets Are Actually Sold
The Super Bowl does not work like an ordinary NFL game.
There is no conventional public release where everybody joins an online queue and buys standard tickets directly from the NFL.
Instead, game tickets are distributed across the NFL ecosystem, including participating clubs, host clubs, partners, sponsors, the host committee and other allocations.
Some then reach eligible season-ticket holders or other recipients.
Once distributed, tickets can subsequently appear on the resale market.
This matters because searching for “when do Super Bowl tickets go on sale?” can create the wrong expectation.
There is not necessarily one public on-sale date to wait for.
For an ordinary fan, the two realistic commercial routes are:
official NFL hospitality packages
or
verified resale tickets once inventory reaches the resale market.
Can You Buy Super Bowl LXI Tickets Now?
Yes — but the type of ticket matters.
Official hospitality: available now
On Location, the NFL’s Official Hospitality Provider, is already selling Super Bowl LXI packages that include a guaranteed game ticket.
These combine the seat with additional benefits such as pregame hospitality, food and drink, entertainment or wider Super Bowl weekend experiences depending on the package.
Standard verified resale: wait
Ticketmaster’s NFL Ticket Exchange is the NFL’s official resale marketplace.
Verified single-game Super Bowl LXI tickets have not yet been released there.
They are expected to become available once the NFL’s ticket allocations have been distributed and holders begin listing them.
Our view
If your objective is simply:
“I need to know today that I will be inside SoFi Stadium on 14 February”
official hospitality solves that problem.
If your objective is:
“I want the lowest-cost legitimate route into the game”
we would not automatically buy hospitality merely because it is available first.
Those are two different buying problems.
Official Super Bowl LXI Hospitality Packages
Official hospitality is expensive, but it provides something standard resale cannot currently provide:
certainty months before the game.
Packages can include:
- a guaranteed Super Bowl ticket;
- pregame hospitality;
- premium food and drink;
- entertainment;
- club-level or premium seating options;
- Super Bowl weekend experiences;
- transport or accommodation in selected packages.
Some premium products have already sold through their earliest allocations.
Who should seriously consider hospitality?
We think it makes most sense for:
international travellers who want the ticket secured before making a major trip;
corporate buyers where certainty and hospitality have value beyond the game itself;
fans attending regardless of matchup;
and buyers who value premium seating and experience more than finding the cheapest entry price.
Who probably shouldn’t?
If your primary goal is simply getting inside SoFi Stadium as cheaply as realistically possible, hospitality is unlikely to be the obvious starting point.
You are paying for more than the seat.
How Much Are Super Bowl Tickets?
Super Bowl tickets exist in an entirely different pricing market from normal NFL games.
Ticketmaster says historical average Super Bowl resale prices have generally fallen around $4,000–$6,000.
That is an average, not a promise about Super Bowl LXI.
Actual prices can move considerably according to:
- the teams that qualify;
- where seats are located;
- how much resale inventory reaches the market;
- when you buy;
- and the balance between buyers and sellers.
Official hospitality packages can cost considerably more because they bundle the ticket with additional experiences.
One important distinction
Do not compare:
a $5,000 resale ticket
with
an $8,000 hospitality package
and conclude the second ticket simply costs $3,000 more.
They are not identical products.
The useful comparison is whether you personally value the additional hospitality, certainty and extras enough to justify the premium.
Our separate Super Bowl Ticket Prices guide will analyse current pricing and market movement in greater detail.
Should You Buy Super Bowl Tickets Now or Wait?
This is the decision most buyers actually need help with.
Buy now if…
You are definitely attending regardless of which teams qualify.
You need certainty before booking an expensive international trip.
You want premium hospitality.
You have already identified a package and seat category that works for your budget.
Wait if…
You only want to attend if your team reaches the Super Bowl.
You want to compare standard verified resale inventory.
Your priority is finding the lowest possible legitimate entry price.
You are comfortable accepting that prices may move against you.
Our verdict
Certainty and value are not the same objective.
If certainty is the priority, the current official packages have genuine value.
If price is the priority, we would want to see how the verified resale market develops before assuming today’s hospitality inventory represents the best buying opportunity.
Should You Wait Until the Teams Are Confirmed?
Only if the matchup matters enough to justify the risk.
The AFC and NFC Champions will be decided on 31 January 2027.
Super Bowl LXI takes place on 14 February.
That gives you two weeks.
Once the teams are confirmed, several things happen simultaneously:
fans of both teams start looking for tickets;
travelling supporters book flights;
hotel demand can change;
and sellers learn exactly which fanbases are entering the market.
A desirable matchup can therefore change ticket prices quickly.
But confirmation can also bring more resale inventory into view.
Our approach
If you are attending regardless of the teams, there is little strategic value in waiting purely for the matchup.
If you are only interested if your team qualifies, waiting is completely rational.
Just recognise that you are exchanging certainty for relevance.
Super Bowl Tickets for UK Fans
A UK buyer has a very different risk profile from somebody living in Southern California.
The good news is that the venue is already known.
Unlike an NFL playoff trip, there is no uncertainty about which city will host the game.
You know now that Super Bowl LXI is in Los Angeles.
That makes it possible to plan flights and accommodation months in advance.
The question is whether you should commit before securing a game ticket.
If you will attend regardless of matchup
We would favour establishing your ticket route before making the most expensive non-refundable travel commitments.
That could mean an official package now or verified resale later.
If you are following one team
Be more cautious.
Booking a Los Angeles trip now because you hope your team reaches the Super Bowl creates a completely different type of gamble.
Your team has to qualify before the ticket even becomes the main problem.
One useful advantage for UK travellers
The Super Bowl itself is on a fixed date at a fixed venue.
So once you have committed to attending regardless of matchup, the travel planning is considerably simpler than following a team through the Wild Card, Divisional or Conference Championship rounds.
Buying Super Bowl Tickets from the US
For US-based fans, travel flexibility can change the ticket strategy considerably.
If you are within practical travelling distance of Los Angeles or can delay travel arrangements, waiting for resale inventory may be easier to tolerate.
If you are flying cross-country, the calculation starts to look much more like the UK scenario.
Ticket price should not be considered in isolation.
Compare:
ticket + flight + accommodation + local transport
rather than trying to win each individual purchase separately.
Saving $500 on the ticket is not a victory if your flight and hotel cost $1,000 more because you waited.
Are Cheap Super Bowl Tickets Realistic?
“Cheap” is relative.
The cheapest Super Bowl ticket will still usually be extraordinarily expensive compared with a normal NFL game.
What buyers are really looking for is:
the cheapest legitimate way into the stadium.
That will generally mean less desirable seating rather than a genuine bargain-priced Super Bowl.
Be suspicious of prices that look completely detached from the market
The Super Bowl combines:
enormous demand, limited stadium capacity and extremely high ticket values.
That environment is ideal for scams.
We would much rather pay the market price through a verified route than chase an implausibly cheap ticket through an unknown seller.
Buying Super Bowl Tickets on Resale
Verified resale will become an important route once distributed Super Bowl tickets reach the market.
The NFL Ticket Exchange through Ticketmaster is the NFL’s official resale marketplace.
For Super Bowl LXI, verified single tickets are expected to appear there as distribution progresses.
What we would monitor
Do not watch price alone.
Watch:
total available inventory
number of seats in your preferred areas
price spread between upper and lower levels
how quickly comparable listings disappear
If the cheapest price drops while inventory remains healthy, waiting may still be reasonable.
If inventory is shrinking rapidly while prices hold or rise, the risk of waiting changes.
That is more useful than searching for a mythical “best day to buy Super Bowl tickets.”
Super Bowl Packages vs Standard Tickets
The word package can cover very different products.
An official package may combine the game ticket with:
- pregame hospitality;
- premium food and drink;
- entertainment;
- Super Bowl events;
- accommodation;
- transport;
- or exclusive experiences.
For some buyers, those extras are part of the reason for going.
For others, they are simply increasing the price of the seat.
Our rule
Decide whether you want a Super Bowl ticket or a Super Bowl weekend experience.
Then compare products within that category.
Trying to compare bare resale tickets against premium weekend packages purely by price is not especially useful.
SoFi Stadium and Super Bowl LXI

SoFi Stadium in Inglewood is home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers and holds more than 70,000 spectators for NFL events.
Super Bowl LXI will be the stadium’s second Super Bowl after hosting Super Bowl LVI in 2022.
For ticket buyers, seat location matters enormously because the difference between upper-level entry and premium club seating can be thousands of dollars.
At Super Bowl prices, we would spend more time studying the actual seat than we would for an ordinary regular-season game.
A marginally cheaper ticket is not automatically better value if you are spending several thousand dollars to attend.
Don’t Treat the Super Bowl Like a Normal NFL Ticket Purchase
There are three mistakes we would particularly avoid.
Waiting for a normal public on-sale
There isn’t one in the way many fans expect.
Assuming resale is automatically bad
Verified resale is one of the normal routes through which ordinary supporters can eventually access Super Bowl tickets.
Buying the ticket without considering the entire trip
At Super Bowl prices, accommodation and travel can also become expensive.
Your decision should be based on the total cost of attending, not whether one ticket listing is $200 cheaper than another.
Super Bowl LXI Tickets: Our Verdict
If we were buying today:
If budget allowed and certainty was essential:
We would look seriously at official On Location hospitality.
If we simply wanted a standard ticket:
We would monitor the official Ticketmaster resale route rather than buying an expensive package purely because it is currently available.
If we only wanted to attend if our team qualified:
We would wait, accepting that the buying window becomes much shorter after 31 January.
If travelling internationally regardless of matchup:
We would prioritise securing a legitimate ticket route before committing heavily to non-refundable travel.
The correct strategy depends less on predicting the absolute lowest ticket price and more on understanding what kind of risk you are willing to carry.
